EGInA at Codeway Expo: extra-EU international cooperation through capacity building, mobility, and intercultural dialogue

EGInA will take part in Codeway Expo, bringing to the public’s attention its strong commitment to extra-EU international cooperation through a wide range of experiences developed in recent years across capacity building, mobility, educational partnerships, and intercultural exchange initiatives.
Participation in the event represents an important opportunity to highlight a path that has led EGInA to work in very different geographical and cultural contexts, contributing to the creation of international networks, the strengthening of skills, and the promotion of dialogue among education systems, institutions, and local communities.

Capacity building: strengthening skills and international networks
Among the main experiences that EGInA will present at Codeway Expo are several capacity building activities carried out in collaboration with extra-European partners.
With SEED4AFRICA, EGInA has contributed to the development of skills-enhancement pathways in the field of vocational education and training, with a specific focus on the agricultural and rural sectors in African countries. The project fostered cooperation between European and African organisations, promoting innovative learning models tailored to local needs.
Along the same lines, ELE_VET is an initiative aimed at strengthening the competences of teachers and trainers in Armenia and Azerbaijan, with particular attention to entrepreneurship and digital technologies applied to vocational education and training. The project represents a concrete example of how international cooperation can help innovate education systems and create new opportunities for professional growth.
A further key initiative is CO-HOST, a project that worked to create new mobility and cooperation opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sector, also involving the Western Balkans. The initiative supported the improvement of the quality of international experiences in VET and strengthened connections among stakeholders operating in different geographical contexts.
These projects are complemented by the training course held in Jamaica on grant proposal writing, through which EGInA supported local governmental and non-governmental organisations in developing project design skills, contributing to the creation of high-impact proposals and to the strengthening of local capacities in the field of cooperation and development.

International partnerships and cultural exchange
Alongside capacity building, EGInA has consolidated a second strategic area focused on international partnerships and cultural exchange, promoting mobility programmes and educational experiences in several extra-EU countries.
Among these, the mobility programme carried out in Japan with school leaders and teachers from Umbria represents an already well-established pathway: the most recent initiative is in fact part of a process already underway, marking the fourth exchange experience promoted in this context. A journey that has encouraged dialogue with local educational institutions, the building of stable relationships, and the opening of new perspectives for international cooperation.
Equally significant was the study visit to Taipei, Taiwan, developed within the framework of the ENNE VET accreditation and the EfVET network. This experience offered a direct insight into the Taiwanese technical and vocational education system and its practices, while also promoting the exchange of experiences and perspectives from a global point of view.
Within the framework of extra-European mobility, EGInA has also promoted experiences in New Zealand, where students from the ENNE VET consortium were able to take part in an immersive educational and cultural experience within the local school system, and in Jamaica, where mobility combined learning, participation in school life, and direct engagement with the local context.
Within this same area, EGInA also developed an experience in Vietnam, further strengthening the dialogue between education, cultural heritage, and digital innovation. On the occasion of the Erasmus mobility of Francesca Zitoli, teacher of Italian Culture and Latin at the Francesco De Sanctis High School in Trani, a workshop on digital heritage was organised at West Hanoi School. The event provided an opportunity to exchange views on heritage education practices developed in Italy and across Europe, while also presenting Thankslinking Day, an initiative promoted by EGInA and CRHACK Lab to connect schools and museums around the world and encourage the sharing of knowledge about cultural heritage through digital technologies. This experience confirmed EGInA’s ability to activate meaningful international connections also in extra-European contexts, enhancing cultural exchange as an educational and relational driver.

A concrete and multidimensional vision of cooperation
EGInA’s participation in Codeway Expo aims to present a concrete, open, and multidimensional vision of international cooperation. A cooperation that takes shape through trainingempowermentmobilitystrategic partnerships, and intercultural dialogue, with the goal of generating real impact in local communities and building lasting relationships among people, institutions, and territories.
From Africa to Asia, from the Caribbean to Oceania, EGInA continues to promote pathways in which skills development, educational innovation, and mutual understanding become essential tools to address global challenges and create new opportunities for international collaboration.
