The DigiCLASS project website is now live

The DigiCLASS project website is now live, providing a dedicated space to follow the project’s work on digital competence assessment in European school education.

To make the project accessible across its different national contexts, the website is available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. This multilingual approach reflects the European scope of DigiCLASS and supports educators, researchers, policymakers and other education stakeholders in accessing and following the project’s work.

What can you find on the DigiCLASS website?

DigiCLASS investigates how digital competences can be assessed more effectively and consistently across European schools. Building on the European DigComp framework and the experience of the Pix platform, the project is working towards a shared and practical approach to assessing the digital competences of students aged 12–19.

The website brings together the main information about this work in one place.

The About DigiCLASS section introduces the project’s background, objectives and approach to improving digital competence assessment in European schools. It explains how DigiCLASS builds on the European DigComp framework and the Pix platform to develop a shared, practical and transferable assessment model adapted to different national education systems. As the project progresses, the News section will document key developments, research activities, pilot experiences, events and emerging results, providing a way to follow DigiCLASS from its initial research through to implementation and recommendations.

The website also introduces the DigiCLASS consortium, bringing together a 7-members consortium gathering expertise from 6 EU Member States, all with recognised and complementary pedagogical, scientific and operational expertise on digital skills assessment and training, as well as project management. The consortium is further supported by nine associated partners forming the International Pedagogical Committee, who contribute additional expertise and perspectives to support the project’s implementation and wider relevance across European education systems.

A dedicated Results section will provide access to the project’s key research findings, assessment tools, methodological resources and policy recommendations as they become available.

The section will bring together outputs covering different stages of the project, including:

  • Research and comparative analysis: National reports on digital skills education and assessment, alongside a European transversal report identifying common trends, challenges and gaps across education systems.
  • Adaptation of the Pix platform: Translated and contextualised assessment content, multilingual platform interfaces and technical adaptations for Italian, German and Spanish educational contexts.
  • Methodological and pedagogical framework: A practical framework to support schools and educators in implementing digital competence assessment.
  • Pilot implementation and evaluation: Findings from beta testing and school pilot activities, including technical and pedagogical improvements informed by feedback from participating educators and learners.
  • Policy recommendations: Evidence-based recommendations to support the wider adoption of digital competence assessment approaches across European education systems.

As these results are developed and published, the section will serve as a central repository of DigiCLASS knowledge and resources, supporting their accessibility and potential use beyond the project consortium.

The Resources section will feature the project’s communication and dissemination materials, including brochures, videos, infographics and other visual resources. These materials will present DigiCLASS’s objectives, activities and results in accessible formats, helping educators, institutions and other stakeholders understand the project’s work and share it within their networks.

Follow the research through the DigiCLASS newsletter

Alongside the website, the DigiCLASS newsletter offers another way to follow the project as its work develops.

Subscribers will receive updates every 6 months on research findings, project results, pilot activities, new resources and opportunities to engage with DigiCLASS. This will be particularly relevant for teachers, school leaders, researchers, policymakers and organisations working on digital competence development and assessment.
