The DigiCLASS (Digital Competence Levels Assessment in School Education) aims to support the assessment of digital competences in primary and secondary education, including initial vocational education and training (iVET), by adapting and scaling up across Europe the already proven Pix platform.
The DigiCLASS project aims to:
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis and mapping of current practices, policies and needs related to digital competence education and assessment in primary and secondary education in the participating countries and at European level;
- Adapt and contextualise the assessment framework developed by Pix, its content and the platform itself to meet the linguistic, cultural and pedagogical needs of each participating country (Austria, Italy and Spain);
- Pilot the adapted Pix platform in real primary and secondary school settings in Austria, Italy and the Aragón region of Spain, testing both its integration into teaching and the related assessment methodologies;
- Analyse the impact of the pilot assessments and formulate policy recommendations for wider adoption and scalability across the EU;
- Disseminate the results and methodology widely and build a sustainable European community of practice focused on digital competence assessment.
The Erasmus+ DigiCLASS project responds to the urgent need to develop common and effective strategies for assessing digital competences in the school education sector across the EU. At present, such assessment is highly fragmented and therefore weakened, as Member States adopt very different pedagogical approaches and educational policy frameworks.
